The Allergy Blog Awards 2017
This weekend was utterly awesome! Driving to Manchester for The Allergy Blog Awards with my hubby. We spent three hours in the car there and back which in turn meant six hours of uninterrupted adult conversation, we caught up on so much.
The venue was super posh and perfect for the awards evening. Hubby and I booked to stay in the Malmaison so that worked out even better for us. We met with Nath and her hubby from Intolerant Gourmand [see below for link] and Ruth from What Allergy and managed to sneak in a quick meal before hand. We went to Byron, a first for hubby and I but it certainly won’t be the last time, it was delicious and I was able to have chips! sweet potato to be precise but it’s so lovely to sit and chomp on a a bowl when I can’t have potato. We had to laugh as the waiters face went white when he asked what our plans were for the evening and we mentioned we were all going to the Allergy Blog Awards. He stammered ‘are you all bloggers’? we burst out laughing as we told him he had three free from/allergy bloggers sitting at the table! He needn’t have worried, the service was excellent and they couldn’t have been more understanding or happy to help.
The awards were hosted by Lindsay from Living with CMPA and Caroline from biteappy and the main sponsor was Asda Free From It was lovely to meet all the bloggers in person and finally put a face to names (we all know and support one another virtually, but most of us had never actually met). This was my first true venture out of my blogging bubble and with my overly-confident hubby egging me on I made full use of the experience and came away super pumped to continue to build my blog and enjoy doing it at the same time! I can’t thank Lindsay, Caroline and everyone else involved enough for organising this, first of it’s kind, event in the UK and simply cannot wait for the next one. Enough about me, myself and I. Bet you’re wondering who won? …..
And the Allergy Blog Awards winners are…..

Asda Free From kindly packed goodies bags for all attendees. These were brimming with a selection of their free from products, plus Anti Aging Cream (I need this!) and Cleanser & Make-Up Remover from Green People. The most delicious Spicy Tomato Snackettes from Linwoods, and a carton of Koko Dairy Free Milk.
I’ve tried the Snackettes and they are a welcome treat for a non potato crisp eater like myself, lots of flavour and very filling, the Koko was used in my tea when hubby made me a cuppa on Sunday night and it was gorgeous, I’ve been craving a ‘proper’ cuppa for a week or so now and this hit the spot. Beth and Lewis have tucked into the gingerbread and cookies, I’ve eaten the muesli for breakfast and supper and it won’t be long before we’ve made brownies! When all is said and done I’m pretty chuffed with out little (large) goodie bags…and so I’m going to share the love or as Asda say ‘Taste it, Love it’ and I’m giving away two times what you see in these photos.
