Blog On Icebreaker

If I said MSI Blog On Conference not all of my readers are going to have the foggiest what I’m talking about…if you’re a fellow blogger on the other hand, you should have a pretty good idea! All attendees to the conference are being encouraged to write an icebreaker (wish we could have done this in my Local Gov days hated the dreaded icebreaker and death by Post-its and PowerPoint!) any-hoo, I thought this would also serve as a ‘know me better’ post for those of you who have followed me for a while, okay, so I’ve laid myself bare in some of my writing but bet you didn’t know this?….

Blog On Conference 2017 - this is me! Glutarama

This is me! Okay, that’s cheating, I’ll add some more pictures below!

Describe yourself in three words

Organised ~ Kind ~ Perfectionist

How long have you been blogging and what made you start?

I’ve actually been blogging for over two years now. I originally began under the name You Gotta Larf (account now deactivated) on Blogger. It all started as a piece of self therapy, a place to write my thoughts and feelings, make sense of the madness. Glutarama began in May 2015 it just seemed to be fate, a natural progression and I’m so glad I went with my gut instinct.

What was the inspiration behind your blog name?

Life was…is a drama for us, the gluten free bit (the baking at least) was the fun bit, I love to bake and find it calms me. To me, Life’s a drama, gluten free doesn’t have to be….Glutarama!

What is the best thing to come from your blog so far?

Friends, really, really good friends. Some of whom I’ve not even met yet. It’s like having Pen Pals (if anyone’s old enough to remember what one of those is!). My blogger family are precious to me, we’re all so similar, not just because we have a common interest close to our hearts but because bloggers tend to be a similar personality type, we just gel.

Your most remembered thing from your childhood

Hot summer holidays, parched yellow grass, hose pipe bans, walks in the park of playing in the heath near our home climbing trees.

Something interesting you might not know about me is…

I recently went sky diving at iFly in Milton Keynes as part of a #RLDTaster blogging event….told you there’d be another photo (eek!)

how flattering is this shot!!!

Which social media platform best describes your personality and why?

I think you probably get the best glimpse of me through Instagram, I try to keep it relevant to the blog but the odd picture of my garden may sneak in.

Where is your dream holiday destination and why?

That’s easy, Canada, a place called Dundas outside Toronto to be precise, it’s where a dear friend emigrated to a few years back and I miss her so. We went out to visit in 2015 and I fell in love with the place. Katherine wrote a guest post for me here about her free from experiences in Canada with her daughter who suffers with FPIES.
