Adorable Mini Gluten Free Chocolate Easter Nests

Adorable little chocolate nests made with wholegrain breakfast cereal Nutribrex (other options for ingredients). These tiny bite-sized treats are fun to make with the children or grandchildren and as they are gluten free and easily made dairy free too it means more happy faces this Easter time.

Ingredients

  • 100 g Milk Chocolate or your dairy free alternative
  • 25 g unsalted butter or dairy free alternative (I use Flora plant butter) or your dairy free alternative
  • 2 Nutribx or crushed cereal flakes
  • 12 gluten free Chocolate eggs to decoarate or try Moo Free, Doisy & Dams for a dairy free decoration.

Instructions

  • Melt the chocolate and butter together in a bowl either in the microwave or over a pan of hot water.
  • For this next step you'll need to work quickly as the chocolate mixture will start to solidify.
  • Crumble both Nutribix biscuits into the chocolate mixture and fold in quickly but carefully, trying to avoid breaking the flakes up too much.
  • Scoop a teaspoonful of the mixture at a time into a petit fours case. I use a mini muffin tin to keep the nests shapes intact.
  • with the end of the spoon or your clean finger, make a dent in the mixture to resemble a nest-like shape.
  • Add a decoration of your choice, ideally mini Easter eggs of if you wish maybe add a little chick decoration.
  • Cool in the fridge for 30mins to set.
