Description
Finally! The Back to Biscuits gluten free recipe book. A biscuit barrel’s worth of 47 delicious recipes. Featuring many childhood favourite biscuits including Fig Rolls, Viscounts, Chocolate Fingers, Party Rings and Garibaldi’s. And that’s just for starters.
With tops tips on how to make biscuits and cookies. A focus on different types of biscuit dough, advice on when and when not to chill and step-by-step photos when the method moves from easy to a bit of a challenge. Perfect for the first time baker or the seasoned baker who is now navigating the world of free from.
Recipes are adapted where possible to be dairy and egg free to suit families with other dietary requirements other than gluten avoidance or Coeliac Disease. With a clear key system to ensure bakers know if the recipe includes allergens including OATS which some Coeliacs cannot tolerate.
The recipes have all been developed over a period of 5 years by Rebecca Smith, founder of Glutarama who’s daughter is Coeliac. Rebecca is intolerant to dairy and egg (among a few other things) so most biscuits and cookies have been adapted for her family and yours.

I love this recipe book. Rebecca has taken the time to give perfect instructions and beautiful photos of the finished biscuits. I also appreciate the time taken to give all the oven settings as I use Gas, so many other recipes on the web never mention Gas. I feel confident that whatever recipe I try will give perfect biscuits.
I have many food intolerances so I will not be able to make all of the biscuits and a few may need some experimentation.
I have made the chocolate hobnobs and they were divine. Next on my list are bourbons.
If Rebecca was to write more recipe books I would buy them. I prefer a book to pieces of paper I have printed from websites. I also love looking at the beautiful photos :-)
Thank you Rebecca.

An excellent book full of amazing photographs and recipes. I particularly like the handy hints throughout the book and the recipes go into so much detail it avoids any happy accidents along the way.

This book exceeded my expectations, both in appearance and content. There is so much information included, which is a wonderful help, as well as tips on how to make the biscuits vegan (thank you Rebecca). I really enjoyed looking at each recipe and forming a ‘priority’ list of biscuits to make – the ginger biscuits will be the first!
Thank you for all that you do to help fellow gluten sufferers. It is very much appreciated.

It is obvious so much thought and time has gone into each recipe making them suitable for as many people as possible. The photos are great, just hope that mine look like that when I make them. Lots of helpful additional information too. Highly recommended.

I have had the Back to Basics ebook for ages. I was delighted to buy the actual book. I always write in my recipe books especially time taken in oven as everyone’s oven tends to be a bit different.
I have made Custard Creams , Bourbons , Oreo’s , Freezer biscuits , Nice biscuits.
Fig rolls were a revelation. Absolutely amazing. They brought back so many memories .
I love a recipe book with photos. Although mine do not look as good as those in the book , the taste and texture of the biscuits was very good . My gluten eating son loved the bourbons.
It is a delight to have all the classic biscuit recipes in one place. All recipes with allergen info and more importantly for me all Gluten Free.
One happy Coeliac.

An excellent collection of family favourites and the best book I’ve seen by far for biscuits. Fig rolls were not expected but are included and I’m looking forward to giving the recipe a try.
I’m very pleased with my purchase and love that it is a printed book.

I already had the original book, but bought the updated version. There are so many lovely recipes! I am going to use a lot of these at the primary school where I work in the kitchen. We have children with multiple allergies and this book will be super helpful to me.
There’s conversion charts for weight, temperature charts in the back of the book as well as alternative ingredients.
I can’t wait to get baking – thanks Rebecca x
