PRESENTING #COOKBLOGSHARE WEEK 47

What a treat I have for you in this years Christmas Recipes round up. Those who have been with me for a while will remember that from time to time I take part in a link up with fellow foodie bloggers, it’s a lovely group of like-minded people and we all support each others hard work.

This week I offered to host again, the idea is to look back at last weeks link up, and gather some of the recipes to feature this week. Of course I have the added challenge of ensuring that the recipes I feature are also gluten free or can be made gluten free with the simple swap of one ingredient.

I think I’ve manged to pull together quite an exciting Christmas Recipe round up that covers all your festive needs for the festive period.

Christmas Eve Recipes

I wanted to add Sandhya’s Sausage Tray Bake from Sandhya’s Kitchen because I thought to myself ‘what an excellent idea for a Christmas Eve dinner’. Simple to make with gluten free sausages and delicious veggies, no fuss, one pan and some crusty gluten free bread to go with it.

Easy Sausage Tray Bake recipe ( Vegan ) – Sandhya’s Kitchen
This quick & easy roasted Vegetable and Sausage tray bake is loaded with flavors, economical & makes a fantastic Christmas side dish.

A great recipe to make quickly with the younger members of the family before Father Christmas arrives. These Puff Pastry Mince Pies by Chloe at Feast Glorious Feast are so simple to make with a packet of JusRol Gluten Free Puff Pastry.

My very own Festive Tart Tatin is a great way to start the festivities early. A slice of this beauty with a glass of mulled wine – don’t mind if I do. Failing that, the Gluten Free Puff Pastry Snowflake beneath is even quicker and still super impressive to make for last minute plans or evening treats.

Festive Gluten Free Tart Tatin
This quick and easy to make Festive Tart Tatin is a wonderful way to use up dried fruits, marzipan and mincemeat. At the end you get a delicious tart in no time at all with gluten free ingredients plus no egg or dairy.

Christmas Dinner Sides

It’s the law to have brussels with your Christmas Dinner, don’t bother Googling it, just accept it as true. I’ve used Eb’s Roasted Brussel Sprouts recipe from Easy Peasy Foodie before and trust me, once you’ve eaten roasted, you’ll never go back to boiled.

Easy Peasy Roasted Brussels Sprouts
If you have never eaten Roasted Brussels Sprouts, then you are in for a treat! They taste much nicer than plain old boiled sprouts and are much easier to make too… In fact, they are so good, they’ll even turn life-long sprout haters into sprout lovers!

Another fantastic recipe from Eb, these roast potatoes are not just normal roast potatoes, they’re Duck Fat Roast Potatoes.

Of course with a festive dinner you need to have a delicious gravy and don’t forget the stuffing so the next two recipes are my answers to your recipe prayers.

Gluten Free Chicken Gravy
A simple to follow recipe for homemade gluten free chicken gravy made from scratch. This gravy can be made in advance and frozen if necessary. Batch cook to make lots of gravy for future roast dinners or special occasions to prevent overwhelm in the kitchen.

Christmas Day Desserts

The quintessential Christmas recipe, traditionally Christmas Pudding is made on Stir it up Sunday (the last Sunday before Advent begins) This recipe will forgive you for making it closer to Christmas though.

Sticky Toffee Pudding seems to have become the go-to traditional alternative to Christmas Pudding. With my recipe you get a delicious gluten free pudding that suits most dietary requirements as it’s also dairy and egg free – not that you can tell.

Gluten Free Sticky Date and Toffee Pudding
A family favourite, this Sticky Date and Toffee Pudding is sticky (obviously), moist, naughty but totally gluten free, dairy free and vegan if you choose. With the option to make one large Sticky Toffee Pudding in a traditional pudding basin or 4 mini puddings.

In the gluten free community we have a saying ‘fruit salad is not a pudding’. It comes from the fact that many a Coeliac will be faced with the dreaded ‘we only have fruit salad that you can eat’ statement when eating out. Office Christmas Parties seem to be the worst culprits with mass produced event food. However, if I was presented with Mandy’s aka Sneaky Veg Christmas Fruit Salad I’d be more than made up – what a fantastic idea.

Christmas Fruit Salad
Fresh, delicious and healthy, this Christmas fruit salad with hues of red, gold and green adds a splash of festive colour to the table.

Something rather different to the norm but how about a festive rice pudding to follow your Christmas Day Dinner?

Dairy Free Festive Rice Pudding
A delicious twist on the traditional Rice Pudding recipe. This Festive Rice Pudding is made the sweet mincemeat, orange and topped with luxurious brandy soaked cranberries. It's all gluten free and made dairy free and vegan too so more people can enjoy this comfort food pudding.

Not keen on Christmas Cake? it’s okay, I’ll forgive you. Besides, there are plenty more delicious bakes in the sea and this Ragi Banana Cake by Renu over at Cook with Renu is a delicious alternative. Ragi flour is millet flour and is naturally gluten free, you can find it in the world aisles in supermarkets (check for may contains) If you want to give it a festive twist why not decorate it in the style of a Dundee Cake with glace cherries and blanched almonds?
